Sir, – It's that time of year again: blazers, boaters and dusty editions ofUlysses are being retrieved to mark Bloomsday, June 16th. Could not some of the energy expended on the fast-growing carnival be harnessed to restore Eamonn O'Doherty's Anna Livia fountain-sculpture to Dublin's O'Connell Street? So that citizens could savour again the waters that gave life to our metropolis and Joyce's works. – Yours, etc,
BRENDAN LYNCH,
Mid Mountjoy Street,
Dublin 7.
