Sir, With reference to D.K. Henderson's letter (April 30th), in which he wonders why "man is the only `carnivore' which is unable to catch and kill his prey by jumping on its back and sinking claws and fangs into it?", I would like to reply that mankind and its antecedents have for millions of years relied not on "claws and fangs" but on teamwork and brainpower to catch prey. Who needs claws and fangs when our intellect gives us spears and guns? - Yours omnivorously,
