Sir, – PC Thompson does right when he asks how the demolition of Luce Hall at Trinity College will effect our perpetual commemoration of Dr AA and Dr JV Luce (Letters, August, 18th).
It should be noted that among those commemorated at Trinity there are many considerable omissions. Of course the number of commemorable graduates far outnumbers the buildings, trees, benches and professorships that can be named after them.
However, some omissions are arguably inexcusable, as in the case of Lord Edward Carson whose life so seriously impacted on the legal, political and cultural circumstances of this island. – Yours, etc,
ADAM HOBSON
