Sir, - During my teaching career I have taught in establishments totally committed to results, "grind schools", and I have also taught in schools providing a fully rounded education.
All schools recruit teaching staff from the same pool of applicants. All schools attract students across the spectrum of abilities. The end result depends on the commitment of the student. This in turn is determined by the home.
