Sir, - As one who usually enjoys Kevin Myers's lone voice of reason, I have always been surprised at how often his articles provoke a negative reaction and am therefore deeply mournful that I must now join this party.

In an otherwise excellent article on equality (February 14th) he flagrantly ignored reality in an attempt to pen the ideal press advertisement. He suggested that an advertiser could require "a blonde laptop dancer with big breasts".

Are we really to believe that any person could be small enough to dance on a laptop computer without breaking it? I am aware, vicariously of course, that some lap dancers' breasts can be larger than a laptop PC itself. Kevin, I implore you not to court controversy deliberately and instead continue to write on less contentious topics such as Irish politics. - Yours, etc.,
