Sir, - Matricide, patricide and infanticide are generally considered heinous crimes committed by and against individuals between whom a relationship of loving care and nurture is the expected norm.

If humankind, which is just one of the myriad lifeforms for whom Mother Earth provides nurture, were to treat her with the loving care she rightly deserves, then pesticide, fungicide and herbicide committed against her also would be generally seen as the heinous crimes they are.
