Madam, - Last Monday I took the DART from Booterstown to Pearse Station. The train was bound for Howth and this was clearly indicated on the platform, on the front of the train and in the usual delay announcement.
However, in the carriage which I entered only the visual part of the audio-visual information system was working and the bemused passengers were being repeatedly informed that the destination was Bray and that the next station was Bayside.
Similarly, on a recent southbound train from Booterstown, the same information system was informing passengers that the next station was Portmarnock.
Is there any limit to the capacity of Iarnród Éireann to create confusion? I doubt it. - Yours, etc.,
M.D. KENNEDY, Silchester Park, Glenageary, Co Dublin.
