Sir, – Patsy McGarry ("Edward Daly: Presidents recall qualities of "perfect pastor" August 9th) reports on the many tributes paid to the late Dr Edward Daly, the retired bishop of Derry.
Failures and scandals within the Catholic Church in the resent past, have resulted in many tarring all bishops with the same brush.
The current reflection on the life of Dr Daly, is surely an important reminder for a recognition that there are bishops who serve their flocks to best of their ability with courage and integrity. – Yours, etc,
