Madam, – There has been much discussion recently in respect of the dress code in Dáil Éireann

Madam, – There has been much discussion recently in respect of the dress code in Dáil Éireann. From my perspective, the ability to do the job and make correct decisions for our beleaguered island is the priority. It is of little consequence to me if they conduct the business of the house attired in tracksuits, pyjamas or indeed the new clothes of an emperor.

As history has taught us, the ability to don the finest hand-made French shirts does not a politician make. – Yours, etc,

FRANK BYRNE, Cormac Terrace, Terenure, Dublin 6W.
