DUP seeks funds from English voters

Sir, – There are two clear messages from Simon Carswell's report that the DUP is seeking political funding from over-55 voters in England ( "DUP targets English voters for funds with pro-Brexit ads", Front page, April 18th).

First, the party has now formally admitted that it does not represent the people of Northern Ireland on Brexit.

The second, more interesting point, is that, by limiting its outreach exclusively to England, the DUP’s “precious union” now seems to exclude both Scotland and Wales where the Scottish parliament and the Welsh assembly have joined forces to oppose Brexit and support a People’s Vote. – Yours, etc,

MARTIN Mc DONALD,
