Farrell comedy at the Gate

Madam, - How could your reviewer write such a cruel and scathing review of Bernard Farrell's play Many Happy Returns (Arts, December 2nd)? After the drivel and the continual foul language of the previous production at the Gate, this play is pure entertainment. It has a wonderful set, six brilliant actors, a story line and a happy ending - what more could you want for Christmas?

I am an avid theatregoer - rarely miss a production - and I am still laughing at what Mr Farrell has given us. Laughter is what we need just now.
