Sir, - While I'm happy to have delighted Ivana Bacik (June 27th), I find it very strange that she claims not to promote abortion when she has often written to ask that abortion be made available here. I am not so happy that she still has not addressed the lack of equality in abortion when the majority of babies aborted are girls. This imbalance gives impetus to inequality between the sexes and, instead of protest by feminists, we have positive support for abortion. Of course, I do not suppose it would sound very well just to seek to have more baby boys aborted.

The right to choose is a strident claim by feminists who have never fully explained why there should be a right to kill the most defenceless of all.

I am delighted to join John Waters in his efforts to secure equality for men, particularly in the matter of access to their children. I have been for many years, and I hope will be for many years to come, involved in human rights for all, from Central America to the Middle East - the ending of executions, etc., - but the most basic right is the right to life.

While I am a member of Amnesty International it disappoints me that Amnesty has no commitment to this issue. - Yours, etc.,
