Sir, – Having completed my 2016 census forms, and as someone who runs to work daily, it is a big disappointment that the State does not recognise this or count me, and many others who do likewise, in their statistics. The form’s option for commuting to work or school in the morning is “On foot”. But there is a considerable difference in a decision to run rather than to walk.
When are running commuters going to be recognised as a category in their own class so that the State can assess our contribution to exercise, fitness, and lessening the carbon footprint, traffic and health costs in this country? – Yours, etc,
