CHRISTINE MURRAY,
Madam, - The concept of a city as a living space for the citizens and dwellers of that city seems to be a myth in the minds of the planners. I suggest that the planning of Dublin's urban landscape be taken out of the hands of those who have failed to plan for its population. Interest groups, especially the dwindling city population, should have a say in the future of this city. A model such as the Partnership Talks is necessary.
I say this because at best there is a dearth of taste in recent urban planning; at worst, the planners have transformed our capital into a city that is not for the people who live there, but a ramshackle monument to rampant commercialism. - Yours, etc.,
CHRISTINE MURRAY,
