Sir, – Maureen Dowd's article reduces Hillary Clinton's candidature to become "the first woman president" of the US as merely "hitting the reset button on her (Clinton's) image" ("Clinton aims to charm voters one by one", World Opinion, April 13th).
That totally misses the significance of a woman becoming the most powerful politician in the world. If Hillary Clinton becomes US president, it will be a powerful reminder that the marginalising of women’s talents, perspectives and interests in representative politics the world over is unjust and inefficient.
Ms Dowd should at least have referred to this in her article. – Yours, etc,
