He might recall that Barak's offer to Arafat, which virtually agreed to all his demands, was rejected.
His comparison of events in Israel to Bloody Sunday is fallacious. The Catholics on Bloody Sunday were unarmed and were no threat to the British army - they were merely taking part in a peaceful demonstration.
Brian Quinn (October 10th) is right that there is an extraordinary number of letters written by quasi-liberals who have an antipathy to Israel and the US. - Yours, etc.,
