Sir, – Brendan Chapman (Letters, June 23rd) complains about ordinary houses being built. Maybe this is because people like to have some outdoor space for themselves and particularly their children. I’m reminded of the failure of Ballymun and the cost we are still paying. Just because Europe does it doesn’t mean it’s the best thing. – Yours, etc,
