Sir, – The authors are to be complimented on the tone and depth of the obituary on Hugh O'Shaughnessy in The Irish Times (Obituaries, March 12th).
The courage and integrity of O’Shaughnessy is conveyed with clarity and regard. Considering his account of Pinochet in 1973 through Guatemala to Honduras in 2011, and on Hillary Clinton 2010-2014 and the US involvement in South America, we are forced to reflect on the West and Ukraine now.
It proves, if proof were necessary, that we now as ever need a courageous press.
