Sir, – Jim Stack (October 22nd) says that "the Irish Congress of Trade Unions has lost the plot" by supporting the campaign to repeal the Eighth Amendment. Trade unions were originally formed in large part to allow workers the freedom to choose where they worked. The campaign to repeal the Eighth Amendment is about taking a big step in the direction of allowing women the freedom to choose what to do with their own bodies. Where's the contradiction between these two aims? – Yours, etc,
