Madam, - When I returned home from the World Handball Championships (Kilkenny City and Croke Park) I noticed a local newspaper article that stated that January 25th, 2004 is the last day people can legally smoke in pubs in Ireland.
While enjoying your beautiful country, my Irish wife and I wanted to hear some traditional Irish music but changed our minds because of the smoke. I hope your new law works. Our state, Delaware, brought in a smoking ban recently and it seems to be working although there has been some opposition.
I believe your country will experience more vocal opposition due to the strong Irish temperament. - Yours, etc.,

Madam, - As one who smokes, I say: please bring in the smoking ban.
I hate them, but I'm addicted. - Yours, etc.,
