Sir, - Sr. Concepta Murphy (January 7th) expressed appreciation of RTE's classical music programmes on FM3. Reading it, I was conscious once again of all the times I never wrote a word of thanks and wondered if perhaps my silence and that, presumably, of many hundreds of others, for whom the station is a pleasure and an education, might be construed as indifference. I am afraid that as a whole we tend to become vocal only when something is threatened. I wish therefore, through the courtesy of your columns, to state that it is indeed a boon and to express very strongly a hope that Ms Helen Shaw will not reorganise it, as has been done with some of RTE 1's programmes. - Yours, etc.
