Sir, – The back-door channel of diplomacy seems to have been given the back seat by too many governments believing increased military expenditure is the solution to the war in Ukraine. Applause, therefore, for reminding us in your recent front-page photographs that not all in the world need be doom and gloom. Children delighting in petting the racehorse Lord Lariat or sharing friendship or even lambs gamboling in the grass are potent reminders of the unalloyed joy of youth.
Keep giving your readers such photographs.
Lord only knows what recessive gene in our DNA compels us adults to taint that joy with any type of war.– Yours, etc,
