Sir, - While it is not my practice to conduct protracted correspondence through the letters columns of the newspapers, I simply must reply to Brian Lube's letter (July 15th). For the second time through your pages he has totally misrepresented my position in relation to the proposed waste incinerator in Kilcock.
For once and for all, I would clarify for your readers that the Planning Acts specifically prohibit me, as Minister for the Environment and Local Government, from involvement in any planning application or appeal to An Bord Pleanala. The fact that I cannot comment must not be interpreted as meaning that I either support or oppose any proposal which is going through the planning process.
