Sir, – Now, I may be among many others who are not fans of Alan Shatter. However, fair play is called for, and the O’Higgins report clearly vindicates the former minister for justice. The man has been wronged, and continues to be wronged by his own, in that while the Fine Gael-led Government accepts its findings, it will not offer an apology to Mr Shatter or correct the Dáil record.
This is unfair, unjust and wrong. The man is constitutionally entitled to his good name. – Yours, etc,
KILLIAN BRENNAN,
Dublin 17.
Sir, – Would Enda Kenny consider appointing a traduced Alan Shatter to the Seanad, and then making him a super-duper minister of state?
I think it’s the least he could do to right a terrible wrong. – Yours, etc,
PAUL DELANEY,
Dalkey,
Co Dublin.
