Sir, – Following receiving my Leaving Certificate 2015 recheck results last week, I was offered my first CAO choice. Unfortunately as this and most universities are now six weeks into lectures, I was unable to begin this year as I would be too far behind. I have the option to begin next year, although I will be a year behind my peers and a year is a long time to wait. Perhaps the State Examinations Commission should release results earlier in the summer to avoid this problem for students every year. – Yours, etc,
