Madam, - Astonishingly low values are shown by G.V. Wright and Mr Ahern if your report "Wright will not be asked to resign by Taoiseach" is correct (September 30th). The point is that Mr Wright should have volunteered his resignation immediately, failing which, Mr Ahern should have insisted. How can the Government possibly lecture anyone about the evils of alcohol abuse and hope to be taken seriously? Moreover how can it expect people to adhere to any decent standards at all with his fine example from our leadership? - Yours, etc.,
