Sir, – In relation to the widely expected referendum on the Eighth Amendment, Senator Ivana Bacik (June 14th) says that the new Taoiseach must "act swiftly to name a date for repeal".
I would have thought that the repeal – or retention – of the Eighth Amendment was for the people of Ireland to decide, not the Taoiseach and certainly not Ms Bacik. – Yours, etc,
