Madam, - Here in the parish of Rowlagh and Quarryvale, an area classified as educationally disadvantaged, we have four primary education centres. All four require expenditure of approximately €1 million to render them safe and habitable for both children and staff. Unfortunately, the money is not forthcoming due to the need for the Exchequer to make savings.
It now seems, however, that if we were training horses the Minister for Finance would find the money needed - and possibly a bit more if we asked for it. Alas, our staff are merely interested in educating children. What a pity! - Yours, etc.,
Fr DECLAN MORIARTY, PP, Rowlagh, Clondalkin, Dublin 22.
