Mixed messages

Sir, – Jennifer O'Connell writes, "... you'd think the Cabinet would at least be able to co-ordinate its leaks and kites" (Opinion & Analysis, February 20th).

The mixed messages of last week regarding the timeline for easing Level 5 restrictions (“late April”, “into April”, etc) have been followed by news that the pubs won’t be opening up until mid-summer. It’s high time that those in Government called time on the Covid “enigma variations” and started singing off the same hymn sheet to foster clarity and avoid further confusion and public annoyance. – Yours, etc,

CLARE BALFE,

Dublin 7.
