Sir, – As we close in on Christmas, and the party season, can I please appeal to Dublin chefs to stop serving mushroom risotto as the only main-course vegetarian option?
There is only so much of it a man can eat in his lifetime, and I’ve already exceeded my quota!
Just because I don’t want to eat meat does not mean I want to eat fungus every time I dine in a restaurant.
And before I hear a response that it is a generic dish that caters for nearly any food allergy or peculiarity, please, please just think of the children. Do we really want them growing up in a world where mushroom risotto is on every menu? – Yours, etc,
