Sir, – Yet another initiative to roll out so-called IT skills in our classrooms, the long-term benefit of which is unknown, unless one considers turning people into coding machines is positive.

Yet another year in which Ireland has no fully State-funded programme of musical instrument education in secondary schools, the proven benefit of which is well known across a wide range of cognitive and skill sets and recognised in many countries.
