Madam, - Last Friday's edition carried two letters from politicians - Mary Harney's double-column harangue and Proinsias De Rossa's (thankfully) short piece, neither of which I read on principle. Public figures like these have many outlets to the media and hardly a day goes by without a member of the Cabinet appearing on TV.
As I stated in a previous letter, the Letters page is one of the very few outlets that the public have to express their views and opinions. Politicians should be happy to listen to the people for a change - they might learn something. - Yours, etc,
GEORGE REYNOLDS, Annamoe, Co Wicklow.
