Madam, - Wednesday's edition contained no fewer than five letters from elected representatives - a senator, two councillors, an MEP and a TD.
These people have adequate facilities to make their views known without impinging on one of the few outlets for the general public to express their opinions.
Perhaps your editorial policy might be extended to reject such letters - and also those in the form of petitions with a long list of signatories, which do not prove anything other than that it is always possible to find enough cranks to support just about anything.
After the front page, the Letters page is one of the most important items for most readers. Please preserve it for them! - Yours, etc,
