Sir, – In relation to the article about payments to former office holders (Home News, September 29th), I have, for the record, to point out that since 2009, I, like the current Minister for Finance, Michael Noonan, have contributed everything I have received in respect of State pensions as TD, attorney general, minister and tánaiste to a variety of charities, Irish and international, and that includes the underpayment discovered by the Department of Finance which was mentioned in the article. Your readers may have formed a different impression from the fact that only Mr Noonan was mentioned in the article as having taken this course. – Yours, etc,
