Sir, - If a person close to me has a diet high in saturated fat, is vegetarian/non vegetarian, cooks frequently with rapeseed oil, drinks one two glasses of milk per day, cats a biscuit or drinks chlorined water, my reported relative risk (per Philip Morris Europe SA) will not be even marginally affected. However, if such a person subjects me to exposure to second hand tobacco smoke, my risk is 1.19 as compared to zero. My choice not to inhale cigarette smoke is denied to me. The carcinogenic habit (addiction) is therefore being foisted on me in spite of my objections.
Philip Morris get a life and leave me to enjoy mine without your admitted lung cancer risk!
Yours, etc.,
Clonard Road,
