Sir, – The Christian values of Donald Trump have been called into doubt by Pope Francis on foot of Mr Trump's suggestion that a wall be built along the border between the US and Mexico ("Pope says Trump's views on immigration 'not Christian'", February 19th). One wonders how His Holiness feels about the Christianity of those European Union leaders who have ordered the erection of razor-wire fences to exclude from their countries fellow human beings desperately seeking refuge from, in many cases, almost certain torture and death. Mr Trump's wall is an aspiration. The razor-wire is now in place. – Yours, etc,
