Sir, - As we approach the annual spending spree that is Christmas, I thought I had seen everything that bad taste could muster. But while shopping in one of Dublin's shopping cathedrals recently, my eye caught a sign outside a large pet supermarket, which read: "Bring your pet to visit Santa". Now that the exploitation of the human race is almost bled dry, business is putting a price on our animal friends as well. What can we expect next?
When one considers the fact that so many families will go without this time of year, the very idea of bringing your pet for a present from Santa is in pretty bad taste, and, in my opinion, borders on the immoral. - Yours, etc., Vincent Devlin,
Oakview Avenue, Dublin 15.
