Sir, - If the institutional Roman Catholic Church does not recognise the Church of Ireland's Holy Communion as a valid Eucharist, why does it have its chasuble in a twist over the President's actions at Christ Church? The theologians cannot have it both ways.
If it wasn't a valid communion, then in their eyes surely all she was doing was sharing a meal of bread and wine with friends. There can be no scandal in that. - Yours, etc.,
