Madam, - David John Dillon (December 8th) raises an interesting possibility when he points out that Britain has just announced plans to build a dozen nuclear power stations. Instead of building our own nuclear plant in the Republic, why not get the British to build a 13th station - in Northern Ireland - and lease it from them?

In addition to avoiding the long drawn-out planning process that exists south of the Border, the project would benefit from economies of scale and operation. - Yours, etc,
