Madam, - A report on page 6 of your edition of August 28th quotes Turlough O'Sullivan of Ibec as saying the Government need to do more to curb public spending. On the opposite page we read that 300,000 people in the Republic are living in consistent poverty and are deprived of basic necessities.
Recent reports claimed Ireland was in the top three worldwide in terms of billionaires per capita and that we are not far from the top of the private helicopters league. This prompts the question: When are we going to wake up and do the sums? - Yours, etc,
