Madam, - You disappoint me. The obfuscation in your Editorial of March 15th on the merits of custodial or non-custodial sentences for the crime of rape does a disservice to the cause of justice.
No convicted rapist should ever receive a non-custodial sentence.
All other matters raised by you, whether with or without merit, can be debated separately. The debate on rape sentencing is not a "bidding war". - Yours, etc,
