Silence Is Goalden

Sir, - I concur with Kevin Myers about crowd behaviour at Lansdowne Road (An Irishman's Diary, October 2nd)

Sir, - I concur with Kevin Myers about crowd behaviour at Lansdowne Road (An Irishman's Diary, October 2nd). The harassment of goal-kickers has become common practice in the latter half of the 1990s. Limerick's Thomond Park and Cork's Musgrave Park lead the way in the observance of silence during attempts at goal-kicks.

This is primarily due to the pride and discipline of Munster rugby enthusiasts in retaining this great sporting tradition. - Yours, etc.,

T. F. Creamer, Exchange Street, Kings Island, Limerick.
