Sir, – Fintan O'Toole (Opinion, November 9th) eloquently describes how the Brexit Vote Leave campaign, and Boris Johnson in particular, wallowed in the engineered bliss of the "willed ignorance" of the Border question.
A significant enabler of that blissful “willed ignorance” was the absence in Westminster of the voices of 39 per cent of the MPs elected by the people of Northern Ireland in 2017 and 2019. Seven articulate and forceful Sinn Féin elected representatives would surely have made a positive impact (in the interests of the island of Ireland) at the crucial moments of truth as the Brexit withdrawal agreement was being negotiated and approved in the House of Commons.
