Sir, – Neil Briscoe in his enjoyable review of the new BMW 7-Series ("BMW brings 1970s comfort to 7 series", January 13th) writes, "Ah, here is someone who once drove a Citroen CX and has since longed for the soft, sofa-like squishiness of its Hydragas suspension. Happy to oblige, sir". Citroen never used Hydragas suspension, but rather a hydropneumatic, or oléopneumatique, system. Hydragas was used by British Leyland in the 1970s. It was designed to have the same function and advantages of the hydropneumatic system developed by Citroën but without its complexity. – Yours, etc,
MICHAEL HENNESSY,
