Sir, – I thoroughly agree with Roisin Sheerin on the subject of the pointless spraying of green roadsides (June 23rd). It's a quite common sight in the countryside to see this defoliating with pesticides being carried out. Many people just don't like green and natural wilderness. Instead deadly defoliants hold a big attraction for them. A power and control thing, I suspect. – Yours, etc,
