Madam, - Your TV critic, Hilary Fannin, in reviewing the recent RTÉ documentary on the Stardust fire, declared it to be the "greatest single tragedy in the history of the State".
But we should not forget a comparable tragedy, whose 80th anniversary falls this year: the cinema fire at Drumcollogher, Co Limerick, on September 5th, 1926 - which, like the Stardust, claimed the lives of 48 people. - Yours, etc,
J KENNEDY, Newcastle, Co Wicklow.
