Madam, - Grammar is not the only flaw in contemporary Irish media, as pointed out by Jean T Evers (July 20th). I have noticed recently that vernacular drug references are increasingly used by radio and television announcers.From one RTÉ announcer telling us that the next film is like another popular film "only on speed" and the frequent news and gossip announcers on Spin FM talking about "coke" not cocaine. Granted media personalities will, and should, use so-called street terminology. For some it may even be the hallmark of their image. However, for others is it an indication of why they are ever so slightly depressed on a Monday morning? - Yours, etc.,
