Sir, – Cllr David McManus of Fine Gael surely misses the point when he asserts, "We must create wealth before we can begin to share it" (Letters, January 24th).
He clearly overuses the pronoun “we”. The serious problem of distributive injustice here happens because the fiscal policy that his party imposes allows a massive portion of the wealth “we” create to fall into the hands of a few individuals. And there was never a more appropriate time to point out the extent of the injustice involved by citing the fact that the 22 richest men in the world have more wealth than all the women in Africa. – Yours, etc,
