The Irish Times, then and now

Madam, - I found Miriam Lord and Frank McNally utterly hilarious in Friday's edition

Madam, - I found Miriam Lord and Frank McNally utterly hilarious in Friday's edition. I think McNally is a worthy successor to Seamus Kelly's Quidnunc and I think Seamus would have enjoyed him too.

In wishing you well in your move, can we remember Eileen O'Brien, who wrote An Irishwoman's Diary every Monday in those days? She had such integrity. . . and not forgetting Theodora FitzGibbon, from whom we learned to cook. Mary Maher has been mentioned already, but I want to mention her again for her courageous women's page.

Thank you one and all, past and present, for giving us the best paper in the world. - Yours, etc,

CONSTANCE SHORT,  Blackrock, Co Louth.
