The right to protest

Sir, – Is the right to protest so absolute as to seriously undermine the rights of others, notably those who legitimately carry on trade and business in O’Connell Street, who pay taxes and substantial rates to the local authority and who provide employment to several thousand people?

Is it the case that the shopkeepers of O’Connell Street have no rights at all?

As my address implies, my only connection with O’Connell Street is as an occasional shopper. – Yours, etc,
